We at The CEI Group, doing business as CEI Network and its affiliates (collectively referred to herein as “CEI Network,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provide this Privacy Notice to describe how we may collect, use, and share information that the users and visitors of our website (referred to herein as “user,” “you,” or “your”) and others provide us through our website, www.ceinetwork.com (“website”) as well as other CEI applications and platforms, including but not limited to ClaimsLink ExpressLane, DriverCare Risk Manager, and DriverCare CoPilot (collectively “CEI Platforms”).  To learn more about ClaimsLink ExpressLane, DriverCare Risk Manager, and DriverCare CoPilot data practices, please visit https://sso.ceinetwork.com/expresslanehttps://sso.ceinetwork.com/driverCare, and https://www.cmtelematics.com/privacy-policy/ respectively.  By using our CEI Platforms you expressly consent to CEI’s use of your personal information as described herein.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Notice at any time without notice to you. We will occasionally update this Privacy Notice. We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Notice to be informed of how we use your information.

For the purposes of this Privacy Notice, “Personal Information” includes, without limitation, any information or data that may identify you such as your name or email address.

Information Collection

When using our CEI Platforms, you may voluntarily provide Personal Information including your name, your company name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and your total fleet size. We may collect this information when you register on our CEI Platforms or request information or a service from us. We and our agents may also collect Personal Information in a number of circumstances in the course of providing vehicle management and leasing services to you as part of a contractual agreement. If you apply for a job through the CEI Platforms, we will collect any information you provide in your application, including, but not limited to, educational background, employment history, and references. If you contact our customer service department, you may need to provide us with additional information so that we can respond to your questions or concerns. We may collect Personal Information about you from third party sources and associate that with Personal Information you have provided to CEI Network.

Aggregated Usage Tracking:

When using our CEI Platforms, we may gather information about you as described below.

  • Use of Analytics Data:
    We use Google Analytics to collect non-personally identifiable information about users. We collect this information to improve the design and content of our CEI Platforms and to analyze usage of our CEI Platforms. We only collect information while you browse our CEI Platforms.   • Use of Internet Protocol (“IP”) Addresses:
    When you request pages from us, our servers log your IP addresses. We collect and use IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to provide personalized content and advertising, to report on aggregated information, and to audit the use of our CEI Platforms. Aggregated information is intended for our internal use only and is part of our performance tracking and diagnostic processes.
  • Use of Cookies: 
    We use cookies to save your preferences so that we can use the saved information to facilitate your use of our CEI Platforms when you return to the CEI Platforms. Cookies are small pieces of information that a site sends to your computer for record-keeping purposes, which information is stored in a file on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies do not tell us your individual identity unless you have chosen to provide it to us.Most cookies expire after a defined period of time, or you can delete your cookie file at any time. Most Web browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your Web browser to refuse cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. If you refuse to use cookies, some parts of our services will not function properly or may be considerably slower.

    You may occasionally get cookies from our business partners. We do not control these cookies, and they are not covered by this Privacy Notice. Your interactions with our business partners and the use of their features is governed by their respective privacy policies.

  • Digital Advertising:
    We may partner with ad networks and other ad serving providers that serve ads on our behalf and others’ on non-affiliated platforms. Some of those ads may be personalized, meaning that they are intended to be relevant to you based on information Advertising Providers collect about your use of the CEI Platforms and other sites or applications over time. This type of advertising is known as behavioural advertising.You may visit www.aboutads.info to learn more about this type of advertising and how to opt-out of this advertising on CEI Platforms by companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) self-regulatory program.

    If you delete your cookies or use a different browser or mobile device, you may need to renew your opt-out choice. You may also be able to limit data collection for advertising purposes using tools available on your device. Note that electing to opt-out will not stop advertising from appearing in your browser or applications. It may make the ads you see less relevant to your interests.

    We will not disclose Personal Information to third parties without your consent, except as may be noted in this Privacy Notice or disclosed to you when such information is submitted.

How We Use Personal Information

We may use the information we collect for any lawful purposes. These purposes include the following:

  • To provide products and services you request;
  • For customer service purposes;
  • To respond to your inquiries and requests, including to respond to contact or consultation requests;
  • To communicate with you (including to provide newsletters, updates, surveys, emails, and other content);
  • For our other business purposes, such as analytics, research, advertising and marketing, payment processing, and operational purposes;
  • To maintain, operate, customize, and improve our CEI Platforms, products, and services;
  • To comply with law enforcement and maintain the security of our CEI Platforms, services, rights, and property; or
  • As otherwise disclosed at the time of collection or use.

How We Share Personal Information

We may share your Personal Information in the following circumstances:

  • At your direction and with your consent;
  • On a “need to know” basis, as necessary under the agreements with our vendors to perform the services contracted by you;
  • To communicate with you (including to provide newsletters, updates, surveys, and other content), subject to our CASL obligations as discussed below;
  • To comply with law enforcement and other regulatory or legal requests and maintain the security of our CEI Platforms, services, rights, and property;
  • When we believe in good faith that a legal obligation requires disclosure.

Third Party Links

Our CEI Platforms may provide links to third-party websites, such as supplier pages, websites that are a product of a search result on our CEI Platforms, advertisers, sponsors, and partners that may use our or our affiliates’ logo as part of a co-branding agreement. These websites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit information from you. We do not control the privacy practices of these websites, and they are not covered by this Privacy Notice. CEI Network’s inclusion of hyperlinks to these websites does not imply any endorsement of the material on such website or any association with their operators.  You should review the privacy notices of other website to learn about their data practices.

Location

As discussed above, we may engage third parties to perform certain services on our behalf and to otherwise host and provide our CEI Platforms. Both these third parties and the CEI Network may store, process and transfer personal information on servers located outside of Canada in jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those of Canada, such as the United States of America. As a result, personal information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in those jurisdictions according to the laws in those jurisdictions. For example, information may be shared in response to valid demands or requests from government authorities, courts and law enforcement officials in those countries. Subject to applicable laws in such other jurisdictions, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure that appropriate protections are in place to require our third parties to maintain protections on personal information that are equivalent to those that apply in Canada.

Individual Access and Accuracy of Personal Information

We support your right to access personal information that we have collected about you. You may request access to your personal information which we may hold by contacting us at the contact information set forth below, and we will respond within the time periods provided for under applicable laws. We will need to verify your identity before providing you with the personal information we hold about you. There is no cost for such access request unless you require copies of records. We may not be able to provide you with access to your personal information if the information cannot be separated from the personal information of others, cannot be disclosed for reasons of security or commercial confidentiality, or is protected by legal privilege. If we cannot provide you with access to your personal information, we will advise you of the reasons access is being denied, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so.

You may request to update and change your personal information at the contact information set forth below. We shall endeavor to correct or complete any personal information which you advise us is inaccurate or incomplete. Where appropriate, the amended information shall be transmitted to third parties having access to such information.

E-mail Communications

We comply with Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL) and we will not send you electronic communications in contravention of this law. On the CEI Platforms, we will request that you expressly consent to receiving electronic communications from us. We will ensure that each e-mail includes an opt-out mechanism and instructions on how to unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive future e-mails from us. You can unsubscribe using the link included in the e-mail or by sending an e-mail to info@ceinetwork.com or by telephoning us at 1-800-227-0101. If you do not expressly consent to receiving electronic communications, we will only communicate with you for the limited purposes permitted under CASL.

Data Security

We use reasonable industry standard security to protect Internet based communications with us from unauthorized access or interception. While we undertake reasonable efforts to protect your information, any information you transmit to us is at your own risk.
